Thursday, July 18 | 7pm | Nelson Atkins Museum of Art
Kirtan and other forms of mantra practice such as seated meditation - help us uncover that place inside of us, our true nature.
Chanting as a group brings people together as a community in a way that no other form of yoga does. "Chanting is the glue that bonds our hearts together." - David Newman
Third Thursday at the Nelson features live music, free programs, art activities and more showcasing the talents of local artists and collaborators. We will be spending time in sacred silence and chanting mantras that are centuries old all in the presence of the Guan-Yin Bodhisattva statue in the Asian art exhibit.
We will have some cushions and blankets available but you may want to bring your own. All levels of meditation and chanting are welcome.
