Duke Tufty and Janet Taylor

Join us on Sunday's at 10:30am for our main service.

Duke speaking Sunday, May 20, 2012

The spiritual message we present is a positive approach to life, seeing the good in all people and circumstances. Unity relates spirituality to daily needs, in a practical way, affirming that for every need there is God’s perfect answer.

Our Sunday Service is a celebration of the presence of God in our lives. We encourage and support the individual to look within themselves and find their connection with God.  The God Spirit within will reveal wisdom and direction.

This hurry-up hustle and bustle world we live in is taking its toll.  Physical and emotional health challenges are rising at an alarming rate because of the increased level of stress, worry and anxiety in our lives.  One hundred years ago the mind of the average person experienced about 6,000 impressions a day.  In 2012 that average has risen to beyond 60,000 impressions a day.  With cell-phones, internet, email, texting, radio and television, there is an ever present effort to capture our attention.

Medical experts across the globe are suggesting meditation as the remedy.  Sitting quietly for thirty minutes a day has positive effects on our physical and emotional well being.  People who meditate on a regular basis experience greater attentiveness, stronger memory, improved cognition, lower blood pressure and an all around improved sense of well being.

Legacy Soceity Meeting, Sunday, May 20, 2012, 11:45am - 12:15pm, Charles Fillmore Chapel. In the 1920's, Charles Fillmore had an idea to build a Temple on the Kansas City Plaza that would serve as a haven for rest and inspiration. This idea spread such enthusiasm that donations came from all over the world to fulfill this magnificent vision. Each of us are the beneficiaries of all those who donated their time, talents and treasures so many years ago. We are now the caretakers for this precious resource that can serve future generations who are in need of rest and inspiration. If you would like to leave a legacy of love, you might consider remembering Unity Temple in your will or estate planning. Join us for a thirty-minute informational meeting about how to do so.

We bid a fond farewell to Denis Kelly, Conservator  at Unity Temple.  He is moving to Nevada to begin a new and exciting chapter in his life.  He will be dearly missed and we wish him happiness and success in all his future endeavors.
